This month (April/May 2010) the W.I. have embraced a local appeal to
link bras for charity!
Worcester Breast Cancer Unit Appeal is hoping to break the
Guinness Book of Records entry for the longest chain of linked bras, in aid
of a new Unit at our hospital in Worcester! This unit will be ‘state of the art’ and
dedicated to the treatment and support of all local breast cancer sufferers and their
families.
The grand link up will take place on Worcester Racecourse but they need as many bras as we can supply to break the record, which is currently held by Australia with 167,000 bras! Afterwards, the Worcester bras will be either recycled or donated to women’s charities. There will be a collection box for new and used bras in the foyer of the Village Hall in Clifton and they would be grateful for your support!
The Village Hall is always open Monday, Thursday and Friday 10 am – 1 pm.
