Mrs Elizabeth Daniel and Mrs Monica Weighell set up Clifton-upon-Teme W.I. in 1964. After reading W.I. reports from neighbouring villages in the Berrow's Worcester Journal, they decided a group in Clifton-upon-Teme would benefit the community.

It is part of The National Federation of Women's Institutes run by members for members. A non-sectarian and non-party political organisation it reaches out to women in all sections of the community, offering wide opportunities for them to become involved, at times which suit their lifestyles and in activities which specially interest them.

The Clifton upon Teme branch is thriving! Meetings are held in the Village Hall at 7:30 p.m. on the third Tuesday of every month. Guest speakers cover a wide range of topics e.g. photography, keep fit, travel, history and gardening. Activities include the Cookery Club, Sewing Club, skittles matches, summer visits to local gardens and museums and evening theatre trips; in fact something for every member to take part in and enjoy. A warm welcome is given to visitors and women new to the locality.
Details can be obtained by contacting the President Mrs Beth Whittenbury (tel. 01886 812464) or the Secretary
