Clifton-upon-Teme Primary School

Clifton Primary School

The original school building in the village dates from 1844 when it was the National School 'for the education of the children of the parishes of Clifton and Sapey Pritchard'

Today, some 60 pupils attend Clifton-upon-Teme Primary School, aged from four to eleven years, arranged in three classes. In addition to Debbie Mitchell, head-teacher for the past ten years, there are two other full-time teaching members of staff, Sarah Wilkins and Karen Driver, and a part-time teacher, Bob Percival. Other members of staff include school secretary Brigette Manton, lunchtime supervisors Daphne Robson and Sue Williams who, with Sally Wakefield, also assists in the classroom; and caretaker Margaret Butler.

The school now has its own website: Click here to go to it.

The ten School Governors have close ties with the village. Chairman is Pamela Wojciechowski and vice-chairman Chris Cale. Other governors include Bunty Crump, Hilary Higton, Diane Richards, Mark Fletcher, head-teacher Debbie Mitchell and Sarah Wilkins, a member of the teaching staff.

The Friends of Clifton-upon-Teme Primary School are a group of hard-working parents, teachers and governors who organise fund-raising events in aid of the school.
