Future Housing

Clifton's Response To Proposed New Housing Development

A total of 145 households responded to Clifton Parish Council's questionnaire regarding the proposal to build 50 houses on land adjoining Hope Lane.


85% of those who responded said they were opposed to the proposed development.

The Parish Council supports this view and has registered a formal objection to the proposal.

The Lion Inn under new
ownership & management

The new owner, John Fletcher, lives at Bury's Place opposite the Lion and has appointed managers Mary & Clive Minshell who now serve good quality food in the newly refurbished restaurant area every day and also offer a choice of take-away meals Monday-Saturday. Three comfortable bedrooms are available for B&B and the pub is now the 'focal point'... m o r e.

Opening Meet Clifton On Teme Hunt


Clifton-on-Teme Hunt Master Richard Hill and followers were treated to a traditional stirrup-cup at their opening meet on the village green in Clifton last year.

The new owner of the Lion Inn, John Fletcher, personally served generous glasses of port to everyone before they set off.
