



The St. Kenelm's Bell Ringers meet on Tuesday evenings for
practice as well as on Sundays and the occasional Saturday wedding. They are members of
the Worcestershire & Districts Change
Ringing Association, a local guild promoting the development of bell ringing.
You can start bellringing at any age and the tower captain Bob Davis,
is always looking for apprentices to join the group.

The Royal British
Legion in Clifton is open to men and women and you don't have to have served
in the armed forces. Its members support the aims of the Legion in all the work it does
for those affected by service in the forces; serving men and women, veterans and
families. The annual Poppy Appeal is the highlight of the year and members meet a few
times a year, including the annual dinner and the Armistice Day service in November.
On 30th September, the RBL starts a year’s celebrations of the 90th Birthday of the
charity, the highlight of which will be a weekend of parties... For more click

Clifton-upon-Teme Bowling Club
was formed in
1994 when the green was created on the Recreation Ground. By 1999 the club's 30 members
competed in 26 friendly matches with other clubs throughout the West Midlands. The Club
Chairman, Eddie Thompson, was one of the founding members and his wife Marie is Club
Captain.
The season starts in April and ends in September.The club has now grown to 35 members,
who meet on Mondays 6pm. Members who prefer to have a go at another time, can just give
Marie or Colling a call. In the winter the club uses the Clifton
Village Hall for indoor bowling.
The Friendship Club was formed in 1971 to provide an
opportunity for local residents over the age of 50 to meet, exchange ideas and socialise
on a regular basis. Members meet on the first and third Wednesday of each month in the
Village Hall in addition to occasional outings during the summer months. For more details

The Clifton-on-Teme Hunt is
one of the youngest in England, founded by local farmers in 1926. The hunt kennels were
originally at Shelsley Walsh near the Kennel Bend on the Hill Climb track.
The opening meet is always held on the village green in Clifton in November, and on New
Year's day the hounds meet again at the New Inn. The Hunt also organises the annual
Clifton Point-to-Point races at Upper Sapey.
The
Clifton-on-Teme Pony Club branch was formed in 1953 and is part of Pony Club
Area 9, where it is one of the smallest branches.
The Pony Club hold rallies throughout the year at local venues with more specialist
training for those wishing to compete in teams.
The aim is to provide a sound learning base for all of the members, so that they
may appreciate the enjoyment to be gained from the art of horsemanship combined
with fun and friendship.

The Clifton branch of the Women's Institute, formed in 1964, offers a varied programme of lectures and talks on a wide range of topics in addition to organising occasional outings.
The Shelsleys Gardening
Club meets on the first Wednesday in the month. Meetings start at 7.30pm in the
Shelsley Beauchamp Village Hall.
Guests and new members are always welcome. Annual subscription £10 + £1 per meeting.

The Clifton Tennis Club was formed in 1986 when members met at Martley to play until fund-raising efforts by the CPFA resulted in two hard tennis courts being built in the village in 1992. A multi-use pavilion has since been added, enabling Tennis Club members to enjoy all year round playing and changing facilities. The Club is affiliated to the Lawn Tennis Association and caters for juniors and students as well as family members. Club nights every Monday & Wednesday 6.30pm.
The Clifton Handbell Ringers were formed over 30 years ago following the discovery of some handbells at Shelsley that were not being used. Funds were raised over a number of years for the purchase of the set of 22 bells now used by the group of seven women who regularly give performances in the area under the leadership of
Pat Bradley (01886) 812 313.
The Friends of Clifton-on-Teme
Primary School (formerly PTA - Parents and Teachers Association)
support the school staff and help to raise funds for items of school equipment and
educational trips. The current committee consists of:

and Lorna Davies.
Clifton Scouts and Clifton Guides meet regularly at the BP hut in the village. There are active Beavers and Cubs groups for boys and Rainbows, Brownies and Guides groups for girls.
