Clifton Scouts, Cubs and Beavers
The Clifton Baden Powell Scout hut hosts a wide range of activity for local boys (Beavers, Cubs and Scouts) and girls (Rainbows, Brownies and Guides) from the age of 5 or 6 upwards.
Beavers meet on Thursdays 5.00pm - 6.00pm. They are the youngest members of the Scout Association, aged 6-8 and belong to the Severn and Teme BP District. Recent activities enjoyed by the Beavers include rafting, fishing and archery. Beavers have been working towards their fitness, healthy eating and Air Activity badges.*

Cubs meet on Thursday 6:15pm - 7:30pm and are aged 8-10½. Recent activities enjoyed by the Cubs include camping, climbing, canoeing and fishing; they have been working towards their hiking, map-reading and camping badges.*

News....
The crisis regarding the Scout Group in Clifton has temporarily been averted, as one of the Cub Leaders, Rachel Austin has said she will move up with the Cubs to manage the programme,
activities and the admin but we still need a “ Real Man” to head the group up with her as
well as a committed group of parent/ adult helpers that we can draw on to come with us to
activities and also support us with evenings down at the hut. We are hoping to start the
Scout group in September on a Thursday night, term time only at 7.30pm. Some of the other
activities run at Top Barn in Hallow are often on a different night so please put your name
forward to help and we can work around you.
People are always complaining about the youth in the village and them needing something to
do, but living in a village, however lovely it is does mean that there are less things for
the children to do at hand. Please give your support by giving Rachel a ring on (01886)
812 880, even if you can only help once a year! We need your talents and expertise and
experience to enthuse these young people.

Carol singing with....
The Scout Group on Thu., 16th Dec. The Beavers, Cubs and Scouts will be
singing their way around the village starting at 6pm from the BP Hut. Everyone is welcome
to join us and we will be raising money for St Richard’s Hospice and also the Scout Group.
